Key Technology/Software Used: VelocityEHS V5 Platform client regression sites, including Incidents, Audits, Actions, and Control of Work modules, Microsoft Word

Short/Long Term: Long term (May-August)

Description:  Compared client V5 regression sites with the VelocityEHS base demo platform. Completed reports for 53 companies using Microsoft Word, summarizing all deviations (configurations and customizations) from the core V5 platform.

Lessons Learned:

  • Time management
  • The immense value of time blocking for increased productivity
  • Through chats with industry experts, I expanded my knowledge on the Industrial Ergonomics and Implementation/Consultant departments and teams

Skills Demonstrated:

  • Attention to detail: to capture all differences, I needed to be very thorough and pay very close attention to subtle, fine details, especially not being as well acquainted with the platform as those on the team who had been working with the platform for so many years were!
  • Efficiency: necessary, as I was working and managing several other projects
  • Effective communication: weekly check-ins, communicate problems early and often, never be afraid to ask questions, especially when encountering software and concepts I have never encountered before

Project 2: Confirming Contact on File

Key Technology/Software Used: Microsoft Excel, Google

Short/Long Term: Short-term (one week)

Description: Went through a list of 200 clients to find out whether their SDSs were accessible publicly; noting and following up if not.

Lessons Learned:

  • Efficiency: a relatively short task with a quick timeline
  • Excel and keyboard shortcuts

Skills Demonstrated:

  • Staying on task and being efficient and effective
  • Accuracy and resourcefulness when finding the SDSs on sites (sometimes in an obscure, non-conventional location)

Project 3: Customer Success Project Management

Also attended weekly Customer Success Leadership meetings.

Lessons Learned:

  • More nifty tricks with Excel
  • Meeting structures and how to take effective meeting notes

Skills Demonstrated:

  • Being thorough, yet efficient (completed the project well before expected timeline)
  • Proficiency with tracking things in Excel
  • Locating information in Gainsight, Salesforce

Short/Long Term: Shorter term month of second half of June-beginning of July

Description:  Successfully created a Microsoft Loop workbook to compile information and resources for the Sales department onboarding in a centralized location. This platform featured customized access levels for trainees, mentors, and managers.

Lessons Learned:

  • How to effectively make use of the tools in Microsoft Loop (and connect and integrate these into Microsoft Teams)

Skills Demonstrated:

  • Creativity: I was given full creative liberties for the project!
  • Responsibility and organization: had to locate and ensure all documents, links, pages were correctly arranged
  • Self-direction and self-management
